The UC Davis Arboretum is having a plant sale on Saturday, April 25, 2009 9 AM - 1 PM at the arboretum teaching nursery (see map)! Pick up some plants and spruce up your garden to celebrate spring. You can also see local horticultural groups give demonstrations.

The Doxie Derby is one of the most popular events at UC Davis' Picnic Day. Dachshunds race across the floor of the Pavilion at the ARC but more often than not get distracted before reaching their destination and wander all over. It's highly amusing.

Ducks are a mainstay of Davis: they wander all over but tend to congregate in the UC Davis Arboretum. In the spring, students can be found lounging on the grass watching ducks and sometimes taking notes on them for psychology classes.

The Arboretum Terrace in Davis Commons is a great place to have lunch, read in a sunny spot, and learn about flowers and plants. Grab a book at Borders or a bit to eat from Plutos, Jamba Juice or Habit Burger and wander next door to enjoy nature.
