Bike Laws

Bicyclists follow laws, too. Students new to California, Davis and/or biking should familiarize themselves with

    the State of California Vehicles Codes pertaining to bicycles

and

    the City of Davis Municipal Code pertaining to bicycles

so they can ensure they are following proper bicycle rules and regulations. Cyclists are required by law to stop at stop signs, have a valid and up-to-date bicycle license, and avoid biking under the influence (you don’t want to get a BUI, trust us).

TAPS is in charge of enforcing bike parking on campus. If your bike is illegally parked, appears to have been abandoned or does not have a valid license, TAPS may confiscate it and sell it in an auction.
