Davis News Roundup May 4, 2009: "Swine Flu"-Free Edition

The past week’s biggest story was the swine flu. You’ve probably heard of it, so we’re not going to address it at all! Here are some other things that happened in and around Davis:

 ~ Winters now has its own Farmers Market on Sundays, so you can double your fun with fresh veggies and fruit. (California Aggie)

 ~ Bev Sykes recaps the Yolo County SPCA’s Doggone Walk-a-thon from last Saturday with photos of cute dogs!

 ~ Davis Life Magazine shows how you can help needy youth by creating blankets.

 ~ One of UC Davis Professor Jonathan Eisen’s students has created a map detailing Davis’ bike and auto accidents. Not surprisingly, most accidents happen in downtown. Practice bike safety!

 ~ UC Davis’ School of Medicine is highly ranked (35th in primary care and 48th in research) by US News & World Report. (Daily Democrat)
