Time to gear up for yet another week! Get your mind back on the work track with a few fun headlines in and around Davis from the past week.

 ~ FEMA has released revised Yolo Flood Maps (City of Davis)

 ~ Four years later, people are still talking about Measure X (Davis Vanguard)

 ~ Focus On Davis guest blogger and biking enthusiast Shane Barnes gives five reasons why you should go off road cycling.

 ~ Jonathan Eisen points out a review of "Pedaling Revolution" by David Byrne of Talking Heads (who has a bike book of his own coming out this fall!).

 ~ Davis garden-lover Leslie of Growing a Garden in Davis visited Chicago for the second annual Spring Fling Chicago garden blogger meetup.

 ~ A character from Pixar’s Up was based on local animals at the Sacramento Zoo! (The Big Reason)

 ~ Pinkberry is coming to Sacramento and the Sac Foodies are pretty darn excited about it.

 ~ At the end of July, the Coffee House will close for a year of renovations. ASUCD plans to set up a shuttle from the MU to downtown to make it easier for those on campus to get to restaurants. (California Aggie)

 ~ A UC Davis freshman seminar recreated Darwin’s face out of bugs and ceramic (The  Bug Squad)

 ~ UC Davis senior Marilyn Murray was in 5 Guys in Washington DC when the President dropped in for lunch. Yet another reason to participate in study abroad and UCDC programs! (Egghead Blog)

And we close out today’s DNR with a bit of humor: former Vice President Dick Cheney and Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin were reportedly spotted at the Davis, CA Applebee’s "plot[ting] the resurrection of the Republican Party over an appetizer of golden fried mozzarella sticks." (Assimilated Press)
